Tier evaluation runs on a rolling 90-day window of completed sales — not calendar months. One slow stretch doesn't drop you. Take time off for shows, custom builds, or sheath catch-up without losing your tier.
Rates Apply Live, Not Tomorrow
Cross a tier threshold and the new commission rate applies to that very sale. The smith who earns Stone on sale six gets the Stone rate on sale six itself — not on sale seven, not after the next nightly recalculation. Your earnings reflect the work you've done, the moment you've done it.

For Customers
When you commission a blade through BladeHubs, more of your money reaches the smith who forged it. A $500 custom commission puts $412.50–$450 directly into the smith's hands— not into a dealer's overhead.
We built BladeHubs because the custom blade trade deserves a marketplace that respects the people doing the work. Lower commissions mean smiths can charge fair prices without absorbing 25% dealer cuts. It means the craft survives, scales, and grows. Every commission you place here directly supports a working artisan.
The Rules
Evaluated nightly based on completed sales in the most recent 90 days.
When you cross into a new tier, the new commission rate applies starting with the sale that crossed the threshold. No waiting for the next sale, no waiting for tomorrow’s recalculation.
Smiths are demoted no more than one tier per nightly evaluation. A slow stretch won’t drop you from Steel to Wood overnight.
All new accounts start at Wood tier for the first 90 days from approval, regardless of sales volume.
Sales count toward your tier the moment payment confirms. Refunds adjust the count automatically.
